Abstract

An analysis of preconditioning for viscous compressible flow is presented. We consider the effect of the preconditioning as the Mach number goes to zero but the cell Reynolds number remains finite. Adjustments to the preconditioning parameters are suggested. A range of high angle of attack computations, including turbulence models, in both two and three space dimensions are presented to validate the effectiveness of the improved code.
