Results of regular hemodialysis treatment in the elderly: A retrospective study

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The authors describe the features of 45 elderly dialysis patients. They conclude, that during the first 18 months of treatment, the general adaptation of the elderly patients to dialysis is satisfactory and their survival rate equals that of younger patients. The authors see no reason to accept age as a selection criterion for RDT programs. It is paramount, however, for the attending physician to know and foresee possible complications and prognosis.
