Abstract
A human giant cell tumor of bone was maintained in culture with autologous serum. Using media patients' serum supplemented with multinucleated cells were found in cultures during passages whereas none were found in those using fetal calf serum. Cyclic AMP effect was present in response to parathyroid and calcitonin hormones using autologous serum, and absent with fetal calf serum and human serum obtained from a healthy individual.
