Resonant oscillations of diffraction structures with weak nonlinearity

Abstract

Shortened equations for open diffraction structures with a weak nonlinearity have been obtained in the vicinity of a resonance. The parameters of the equivalent pendulum are generally expressed in terms of eigenfrequences and eigenfunctions of an open resonant structure. As an example, a grating with nonlinear bodies has been considered. Bistability in the vicinity of Woods' anomalies has been studied, and the stability of various branches of the solutions has been analyzed.
