Abstract
The exact solution to a screw dislocation oscillating about an arbitrary position in a circular cylinder is obtained. The resonant radiation phenomenon due to asymmetric dislocations is found to be considerably different from the symmetric case previously investigated. Results show that the resonance phenomenon inherent to the system must be taken into account in order to interpret correctly signals produced by acoustic emission.
