Resonance dissipation effect in ribbon gratings and its using for mode selection in open resonators

Abstract

Absorption of E- and H-polarized plane waves by the ribbon nonperfectly conducting grating placed above the plane nonperfect conductor is considered. The numerical algorithm to solve the problem is described and the computer calculation results are given. The resonance absorption effect is found in these structures and the possibility of its using for mode selection in open quasioptic resonators is demonstrated.
