Abstract

Treatment of thymic cells with thymus humoral factor (THF) increased their capacity to elicit a graft‐versus‐host (GVH) reaction in vitro. Similarly, it was shown that in vitro THF treatment of thymic cells increased the resistance of these cells to hydrocortisone (HC) succinate. These results suggest that THF can increase the HC‐resistant compartment of the thymus cell population by transforming the HC‐sensitive cells into resistant ones.
