Abstract

Reproductive tourism is variably defined as the provision of infertility treatment for a patient outside of the borders of the patient's native country. Since such treatment often occurs because of legal restrictions on medical care available in the patients' native country, it is important to examine the ethical and legal considerations that result in limitations on the provision of health care in the field of reproductive medicine as well as the magnitude and effects of such medical treatment.
