N2 - The threat posed by reliability of information to the acceptability of decision support systems (DSS) is analyzed. Possible causes which damage the reliability of information, like defensive reporting, cognitive biases, fear of responsibility, and information as a power source, are examined. It is concluded that an unreliable data base can lead to abandonment of a system. In order to deal with the problem, it is suggested that organizational factors should be analyzed and considered while defining the system concept.
