Abstract
Ultrastructural examination of mouse bone marrow lymphocytes in the vicinity of the sinusoidal wall revealed a peculiar concentration of mitochondria in the area of the cell facing the wall. The same phenomenon was observed in cells migrating across the sinusoids. Bone marrow of animals injected with ethidium bromide, a specific inhibitor of mitochondrial functions, showed almost empty sinusoids. The possible role of mitochondrial grouping in a moving cell is discussed.
