Abstract

Ventricular tachycardia (VT) is usually attributed to 1 of the 3 following mechanisms: reentry, triggered activity or automaticity.1 In the present report, we describe a patient with a healed myocardial infarction (MI) who had 2 types of sustained VT: 1 induced during electrophysiologic study and suggesting a mechanism of reentry, and 1 induced during exercise testing and suggesting a mechanism of cyclic adenosine monophosphate-(cAMP)-mediated triggered activity.2 This is the first report of such an association.
