Abstract
We describe a complication in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Theroutine introduction of a midclavicular secondary trocar resulted in a largehematoma of the rectus sheath. The patient developed atelectasis and pneu-monia and required extended hospitalization. This previously described com-plication is detailed with recommendations to prevent its occurrence.
