Abstract

A quick look reveals all: A two-dimensional ultrafast TOCSY experiment in one scan is presented and used to study the synthesis of pyrimidine from an aliphatic ketone, a nitrile, and Tf 2O. 525 two-dimensional TOCSY experiments were recorded, and the reactants, intermediates, and products could be monitored (see picture; blue=product; gray, green, and pink=intermediates).
