Abstract

Hypertension has often been observed in patients with the Guillain-Barre syndrome, and various underlying mechanisms have been implicated. We report on a child with the Guillain-Barre syndrome whose hypertension was related to increased renin-angiotension activity. Treatment with propranolol controlled the hypertension effectively and reduced the raised plasma renin activity.
