Radiative breaking of a kink in a periodic lattice of impurities

Abstract

Radiation losses of a sine-Gordon kink in a one-dimensional dense or rarefied lattice of lacalized impurities are calculated by means of perturbation theory, and the lenght and time of penetration of the kink into the lattice are found.
