Abstract

The electromagnetic radiation emitted by growing plasma oscillations from an infinitely long current carrying cylindrical plasma in vacuum is investigated. It is found that for growing waves with phase velocities smaller than the speed of light, the radiated power density gradually builds up from zero to nonvanishing values.
