Abstract

The system of coupled atomic and molecular condensates was studied. The aim was to show that even in the perfect two-mode limit, the mean-field theory (MFT) fails to provide long-term predictions due to strong molecular mode. It was found that the leading quantum effect is the nonexponential spontaneous decay of the molecular condensate and the dynamics was shown to be highly sensitivity to the initial conditions.
