Pulmonary functional abnormalities after upper dorsal sympathectomy

Abstract

Pulmonary function tests were performed in a group of 15 patients before and 1 to 3 months after upper dorsal sympathectomy. Significant decreases in all compartments of lung volume and maximal expiratory flows were found. Serial studies in 3 patients showed improvement after 6 to 8 months.
