Abstract

Measurements of the central multiplicity associated with high-pt particles up to 2 GeV/c in p-p, p-α, and α-α collisions, and measurements of dσdEt are presented. The difference in associated multiplicity, n (p-α)-n(p-p), is independent of pt while n (α-α)-n(p-p) rises with pt, providing new information on the "anomalous" pt dependence of nuclear inclusive cross sections.
