Psychosocial stress and chronic pain: A threshold model of biological lock-in

Research output: Contribution to journal › Comment/debate

Abstract

The authors regret the omission of a parameter definition, the incomplete presentation of the mathematical reduction, and an erroneous description of system behaviour near a bifurcation in the original article. We also clarify that the mathematical formalization in Section 6 was intended as a conceptual heuristic to illustrate the proposed biological phase-transition and lock-in mechanisms, not as a fully parameterized quantitative predictive model, as also stated in the paper’s limitations. The corrections below clarify the intended dynamical systems framework and do not alter or invalidate the article’s biological conclusions. 1.
