Prevention of Maladjustment: Paving the Way Forward

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

The contents of various chapters are reviewed, and emerging commonalities across life-course transitions are highlighted. For example, the much attention they gain, the danger they bring about and the notion that transition is always an event that not only the individual is occupied with. Possible advantages of the suggested TSA model are presented. One of them, for example, is to lean on the TSA model as a comprehensive approach to the development of interventions that focus on the prevention of maladjustment and/or in suggesting more structured guidelines for the evaluation of people’s adjustment to transition. Finally, challenges that future explorations should address are outlined, such as the promotion of adjustability within efforts to promote social-emotional learning (SEL).
