Abstract

Research and evaluation in the domain of adolescent alcohol and drug use indicates the important role of parents in promoting as well as in preventing substance use by their offspring. The role of parents in a comprehensive substance use prevention program is described wherein parents were involved in education, treatment, and counseling.
