Abstract

The first measurement of pion double charge exchange at low energy is reported. The reaction C14(π+,π-)O14 was measured at an incident pion energy of 50 MeV. Differential cross sections of the double analog transition are given in the angular range 50°-120°. Strong nonanalog transitions were also observed.
