Abstract

Photosensitivity is listed as a side effect to isotretinoin, but reports in the literature are contradictory. Only a few cases of photosensitivity, phototoxicity and photoallergy, have been reported. We describe herein a case of a photosensitivity due to isotretinoin. The possible role of an allergic mechanism in this reaction has been suggested by a positive mast‐cell degranulation (MCD) test toward the drug.
