Abstract

Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is a highly prevalent, disabling, and costly disorder that unfortunately remains underdiagnosed in primary care settings. We aimed to develop a pharmacotherapy algorithm that addressed the treatment of SAD, and that was user-friendly for the primary care practitioner. The algorithm attempts to summarize the recent literature in this area succinctly and to include the views of an international panel of experts with diverse experience.
