Abstract
Hollowing or deepening of the superior sulcus may occur from senescent volume changes in the orbit or iatrogenically as a result of periorbital surgery. Extensive removal of the orbital fat in the upper eyelid sulcus may lead to a "skeletonized" or sunken appearance. Asymmetrical fat removal may produce irregular contours within and/or between the sulci. Certain individuals have a preexisting deep sulcus that is masked by dermatochalasis and may become more prominent following blepharoplasty.
