Abstract

The pathogenetic role of infectious agents in pemphigus has been a cause for debate for many years. In this chapter, the currently available data on the association of infectious agents and vaccinations with pemphigus are reviewed, and the mechanisms that might underlie their potential role in the pathogenesis of the disease as well as possible clinical implications are discussed.
