Abstract

Pelvic masses in adolescents encompass a wide range of etiologies, from ovarian cysts and pregnancy to nongynecologic causes. Most of these entities are benign, but prompt evaluation is required to diagnose possibly urgent conditions such as ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, and obstructive outflow tract anomalies. This chapter reviews the symptoms and signs, imaging, and differential diagnoses of adolescents with a pelvic mass.
