'Parasitic' tube and ovary on the appendix. Case report

Abstract

A very rare case is reported of a detached ovary and fallopian tube which was found attached to the appendix and growing as a parasitic 'organism'. The etiology suggests torsion and auto amputation with subsequent appendix attachment. The sparce literature is reviewed.
