Abstract

Paragangliomas are neoplasms that arise in multicentric cell groups, associated with the autonomic nervous system, and called paraganglia .6 Although these tumors are most common in the head and neck region, they may occurin diverse locations including mediastinum, retro peritoneum, and visceral organs.6 Since the initial report of paraganglioma in the spinal cana 1,14 25 cases of spinal paragangliom as have been reported, most of them in the caudaequina –filumterminale region.2-5'7·9-14,16,18-23 We present here a case of a in trathecalparagang liom a of the thoracic spine with metastatic spread to the caudaequina region. Métastasés of spinal parag angliom as via cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) have not been reported before.
