Abstract

In two patients with supraventricular tachyarrhythmias with atrioventricular block, therapy with lidocaine and ajmaline decreased the atrioventricular block and caused paradoxical acceleration of the ventricular rate. Appropriate treatment of this hazardous result of therapy with antiarrhythmic drugs is reviewed.
