Abstract
Deals with the calculation of optimal geometric and electromagnetic parameters for a three phase power transformer with a view toward minimum production cost for a transformer possessing the required properties. The problem is described by means of a nonlinear cost function and nonlinear inequality constraints. The standard requirements of core losses and copper losses were considered as inequality constraints and the percent impedance as an equality constraint. A completely analytic method, suitable for use on a digital computer, is given for solving the problem.
