Abstract

We report the optical constants of Hg/Xe films (metal composition X = 1.00-0.47 atomic fraction) at 6 K over the energy range 0.65-3.80 eV, which provide a new criterion for the identification of the Mott-Anderson continuous metal-nonmetal transition in this material.
