Abstract
The present article overviews the decisions researchers must make in the use of factor analysis as a research tool. The decisions are divided into four areas of consideration: conceptual/theoretical, design, statistical, and reporting. These four areas are linked to planning, conducting, and reporting factor analysis studies. A series of questions summarize the issues discussed and serves as a guide for conducting or reviewing factor analytic research. Reprinted by permission of the publisher.
