Abstract

This paper describes a method for determining the complex propagation constant along a leaky-wave structure, which is composed of an array of thin, metallic, rectangular strips etched on a dielectric rod of rectangular cross section. This configuration finds useful applications as frequency scannable antenna, particularly at millimeter waves where the antenna can be conveniently integrated with dielectric-based planar integrated circuits.
