On the peak-to-average power ratio of M-sequences

Abstract

The paper derives an expression for the peak-to-average power ratio (more exactly the peak-to-mean envelope power ratio) of an M-sequence. The derived parameter is of crucial importance if M-sequences are used in multi-carrier communication systems (e.g. OFDM).
