Abstract

It is shown that the microscopic (Green's functions) approach and the Boltzmann equation approach to the description of nonequilibrium phenomena in superconductors yield the same basic equations. The physical origin of terms exhibited by the microscopic theory is discussed. The normal-charge and supercharge densities and currents are proven to obey separate continuity equations for frequencies ωτQ* ≠ 1, where τQ* is the branch imbalance charge relaxation time.
