Abstract

In this note we report the observation of emission of the azulene molecule in the region of 13 200 cm^-1, characterized by a quantum yield of 10^-7, which is assigned to the ¹A₁(2) → ¹B₁(1) radiative transition between excited electronic states of a large molecule.
