Abstract

The kernels corresponding to the exchange of a vector boson in nucleon-nucleon scattering are computed using the Tamm-Dancoff-Dyson (T.D.D.) formalism. These kernels are compared with those obtained using the Fukada-Sawada-Taketani (F.S.T.) method. The ρ{variant}-nucleon coupling constants are derived from form factor data, while the vector ω-nucleon coupling constant is treated as a parameter and determined so as to give agreement with the experimental 3P1 phase shift at 137 MeV lab. Using the sum of the one-pion, two-pion, ρ{variant} and ω kernels, phase shifts are computed for uncoupled singlet and triplet states for 0 ≤ l ≤ 3, and compared with other theoretical and experimental values.
