Abstract

The Coulomb explosion of heteronuclear clusters to produce high energy deuterons was investigated. A dd nuclear fusion was found to be induced by Coulomb explosion mechanism of heteronuclear deuterium clusters in strong laser fields. Molecular dynamic simulations and cluster size equations for deuterium containing clusters of (D2O)n were evaluated. The comparison of heteronuclear clusters with those of (D)n showed to possess higher D+ kinetic energy and narrow electron distribution at high energies.
