Abstract

The relativistic RPA is used for studying excitations in finite nuclei. Monopole and quadrupole giant resonance are qualitatively reproduced. NN excitations appear at energies much lower than 2M as a result of the strong scalar potential. Sensitivity of results to negative energy states is discussed.
