Notes on the Spider Genus Steriphopus (Araneae: Palpimanidae), with Redescription of the Type Species

Abstract

A type species of the genus Steriphopus O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1873 is redescribed based on the topotype specimens from Sri Lanka. Endogyne and details of the male palp are described in details for the first time. The genus belongs to Chediminae and currently encompasses four species distributed from the Seychelles to Burma. Relationships of the genus is briefly discussed.
