Abstract
Normal E//0//m modes in a flat ridged waveguide and H//m//n modes in a circular, azimuthally ridged waveguide are discussed for the case of a finite wall conductivity. The theory is based on the equivalent boundary conditions of the impedance type, which take into account the non-ideal conductance of the walls. Physical properties of these modes are studied and conditions of an abnormally low attenuation are discovered in particular.
