N2 - Accurate information on the magnitude of the microscopic spectral shifts of tetracene·Arn (n = 1-6) complexes emerges from fluorescence excitation spectra in pulsed planar jets, which were obtained using a pulsed xenon lamp and a monochromator. The non-additivity of the spectral shifts per added Ar atom was established, providing structural information on these large complexes.
