Abstract

The increasing importance of energy has brought about a marked demand for changes in educational programs. In this paper a new program is proposed, which gives a partial answer to the needs of various Israeli institutes and industries. Some ideas are presented and discussed and a detailed program is studied and analyzed. The concept of the ″general″ energy engineer versus the ″specific″ energy engineer is discussed. Among ″specific″ energy engineers, the authors include electric power engineers, mechanical energy engineers, chemical energy engineers, and nuclear energy engineers. The authors believe that the ideas presented here may be of great importance even in other countries and can be applied for other conditions as well.
