Molecular wires acting as coherent quantum ratchets

Abstract

An approach for the computation of the current through a molecular wire in the presence of laser fields of arbitrary strength is presented. The method is based on the Floquet solutions of the isolated driven wire. Using this formalism, the possibility of using molecular wires as coherent quantum ratchets is established.
