Abstract

We analyze stability of continuous wave (cw) solutions to the second-harmonic-generation equations in a multidimensional dispersive medium, and demonstrate that they are always unstable. We also consider the modulational stability in a more general three-wave system, and demonstrate that, at least in some cases, its multidimensional cw solutions may be stable.
