Abstract

Modulation instabilities (MIs) of asymmetric continuous-wave states in birefringent two-core fibers with normal dispersion are analyzed. The properly scaled MI spectra are distinctly different from those of a zero-birefringence fiber, especially for the circular-birefringence case.
