Modelling man-machine interface in a data base environment

Abstract

A method for the conceptual representation of queries in a man-machine data base environment is presented. The conceptual model is also used to categorize the queries into distinguishable classes. This provides users with a framework for stating their requests, and gives data base professionals a tooi for designing interface languages and data base structures.
