Abstract

The new Mode II fracture specimen was used to measure K//I//I//C in PMMA. The ratio of K//I//C/K//I//I//C was preliminarily determined to be 0. 91. The approximate crack propagation angle conformed with the maximum tensile stress theory. It has been shown that this new Mode II fracture specimen may be employed successfully to measure Mode II fracture propagation characteristics.
